Clare Lorell Sober Jr.
Clare passing away with family by his side on, 02, 22, 2020 at the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs CO. 90 years old. Yeah!
Born in Chicago, IL on 06, 28, 1929 to parents Clare Sr. and Berenice Sober. Clare was the oldest child, with sister Carol (Ron) Cutler of Hilton Head, SC, and brother Dan Sober of Columbus, OH. Carol survives.
Clare, graduated with honors from Kiski Preparatory School in Saltsburg, PA. Excelling in all thing’s sports. Enjoying football, golf, and swimming, winning the Detroit Boat Club 1945 Swimming Championships. He was a renaissance man, attending both Dennison and Wayne State University.
1951 was a big year for Clare, he married Nancy C. Bolles - he also answered the call of his nation. Being stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict (Army). He returned to America, briefly working in the auto industry for his father in-law James Clyde Bolles an early pioneer in the auto industry.
Clare’s went on to enjoy a 30 years career with Eastman Kodak, as a professional salesman in their imaging business. Marketing Kodak’s x-ray prowess to doctors, hospitals, commercial contractors, and government agencies, up and down the eastern seaboard of the USA. He was a true professional who “carried the bag.”
Clare had two loving Children with first wife Nancy, daughter Linda (Roy) Parsons of Saline MI, and son James (Michele) Sober of Carbondale CO. His loving Grandchildren are, Harmony R. (Dave) Hoekzema, Eric (Rebeca) Parsons, Neil (Amy) Sober, Ryan (Leia) Sober, Shawn (Stacy) Preston, with great Grandchildren Emily, Ena, Ethan, Eli, and Lockin Sober, Gavin and Karsen Parsons, Oliver and Xander Hoekzema.
In 1972 Clare married his second wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Moyer Everett of Allentown PA. Living together in Macungie PA. On most weekends you’d find them participated in and even win their fair share of couples Golf events.
Clare made it a point to became the best “step-father” figure to Betty’s Children: Susan Everett, Jan (Frank) DeChristopher, Sally (Rich) Krznaric, Pam (Frank) Ring.
His Loving Grandchildren with Betty are Tony (Ruth) DeChristopher, Sef (Keturah) DeChristopher, Jason (Maggie) DeChristopher, Kyle DeChristopher, Bradly & (Adrienne) Ring, Brittany (Nick) Ruffner, Kristi (Chris) Olney, Kasey (Levi) Burge. Also, Great - Grandchildren: Angelina, Juniper, Emersyn, Ashlynn, Tyler, Ian, Elyse, Olivia, Daisy, Everett, Kinsley, and Leah. He’ll always be Capa!
