Obituary for Terry Douglas Gish

Terry was born April 6th,1949 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Jack and Elaine Gish. The second child of five. Terry grew up with his close, loving family in Omaha Nebraska. His fond childhood memories were fishing, skiing and boating on lakes in Nebraska and Minnesota. Terry moved to Fountain, Colorado in 1973 to marry the love of his life, Lori Koch, they would have been married 50 years in May and lived in the Glenwood Springs area for over 40 years. With Lori's family he enjoyed fishing, pack trips and camping in the beautiful mountains Colorado and also their many memorable trips to Lake Powell.

From a young age Terry loved God's word the Bible and as he grew older and studied it more diligently he learned to love it even more and enjoyed sharing it's message with others. Terry was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1972. He and Lori spent their married life teaching others about their hope, that in the near future God's Kingdom will rule over this earth and bring it to the paradise state that Jehovah God originally purposed for humans.
Terry and Lori lived in Ecuador while in Missionary activity in the 1980's and there they learned to speak Spanish. Since returning to the United States in 1990 they have been part of the Glenwood Springs Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Terry was known as gentle, patient and kind man with a sense of humor and a deep love for his family and friends. He will be sorely missed for the wise bible based advice that he used to help others. Terry was a "Car Guy" and he was known up and down the valley for his expertise in restoring classic cars. He made many long lasting friendships in that field. Terry enjoyed animals of all kinds and had a variety of them throughout his life including (rescued) feral cats and a family of raccoons.
