Dwight Paul Neuman (62), of Glenwood Springs, passed away on Saturday, February 9th at Valley View Hospital, following a brief illness.
Dwight was born on November 12, 1956 in Rochester, New York to Paul and Ruth Neuman. He grew up in Naperville, Illinois and at an early age grew a love of the outdoors spending summer vacations at the family’s cabin in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. He moved to Colorado in 1975 to participate in an Outward Bound program and attended Colorado Mountain College. Eventually his love of the mountains brought Dwight to Glenwood Springs, Colorado where he has lived for over 25 years. As an avid outdoor and nature enthusiast, Dwight was employed by Factory Outdoor in Glenwood Springs for the past 12 years and spent much of his free time enjoying camping, hiking, mountain biking and guiding rafting trips on the Colorado River. Dwight had a keen interest in music and as a talented bass guitar player, he performed at local venues around Glenwood Springs.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Ruth of Virginia Beach, Virginia, brother Todd Neuman of El Portal, Florida, sister Diane Ryan and her husband Sean of Virginia Beach, nephew Patrick Ryan of Virginia Beach, two nieces Anna Ryan of Culver City, California, Meghan Ryan and her husband Sean Weber of Harrisonburg, Virginia and many friends in Glenwood Springs.
Family and friends will be invited to attend a Celebration of Life that will be held in Glenwood Springs to honor Dwight’s memory in late Spring.
In Dwight’s memory contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association of Colorado at

Diane and family: words are not enough to express how sorry we were to hear of your loss. May your memories of Dwight remain in your hearts forever.

Missing your big smile at work and your yelling matches with the copier/fax machine already. You've left a big gap at work and your shoes will be hard to fill. May God Bless and keep your family in His circle of loving care during this difficult time.

Dwight was one of my first roommates when I moved to CO in 1981, six of us in the house in Carbondale. We had such a fun winter that year, we were all young and foolish. Dwight taught me to cross country ski that winter. I loved his sense of adventure and his wonderful sense of humor. I added the photo of him and my late sister Kathy Wright, RIP Dwight and Kathy. My condolences to his family and dear friends.

My deepest sympathy to the Neuman family on the passing of Dwight. May you find comfort from
the fond memories you have of him. Prayer to God for comfort will also help. We can look
forward to the time when sickness and death will be no more. I hope these wonderful promises
will provide comfort for you at this difficult time.
